According to a journalist’s report, the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will proceed as scheduled, and claims suggesting a postponement to 2028 are completely unfounded.

British media had suggested the tournament might be postponed to 2028 due to concerns over the readiness of co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to stage the event.

However, Journalist R debunked this rumour on social media, stating:

“The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations is going ahead as planned. Reports of a postponement to 2028 are completely baseless. As part of their obligations as co-hosts, Tanzania and Uganda have each submitted $30 million to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Kenya’s payment is still being processed but is expected to be completed soon. These funds are part of the official hosting requirements agreed with CAF.”
